Served for 11 years in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), Government of India, New Delhi.

Contributed as a Project Team Member in the pre-incorporation activities of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), Pune and Electronics Research & Development Centres across India for advanced Electronics Research, Design, and Development.

Software Quality and Reliability Initiatives

Initiated the R&D project Soft QC/QM funded by the Department of Information Technology (DIT), Government of India, facilitating quality and reliability related services to the IT industry.

Established long-term collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, USA for transfer of Capability Maturity Model (CMM) technologies to India.

Authorized by Carnegie Mellon University / Software Engineering Institute (SEI), USA as trainer for the official Introduction to Capability Maturity Model (CMM) course.

Established one of India’s earliest Software Testing and Training Laboratories at ETDC Chennai for independent software testing services.

Leadership Roles

Served for a total of 18 years as Senior Director and Head of laboratories under STQC Directorate, MEITY as under

  • Electronics Test & Development Centre (ETDC), Chennai
  • Centre for Reliability, Chennai
  • Electronics Regional Test Laboratory (ERTL), Mumbai

Led quality transformation initiatives and established NABL accredited quality systems.

  • Conference Chair for INCRESE 2006
  • Organizing Chair for ICQRIT 2009 and ICQRIT 2012

Invited by ISRO to deliver plenary talks on Secure Coding Principles.

Invited by DRDO/LRDE on Quality Function Deployment.

Nominated by the Governor of Tamil Nadu as Member of the Academic Council of Anna University for two consecutive terms.
